Six Days Of Survival, One Day Of Serving Looks

Fashion didn’t quit. I just got busy.

Life has been asking everything of me lately.

My alarm goes off at 5am, and I don’t get in bed again until around midnight. Six days a week. Rinse. Repeat. Survive.

One thing about me though, I don’t get lost in the misery of challenging routines, I find little ways to remind myself that I’m still Jay.

I’m a fashion girlie. I have and will always be.

My job doesn’t leave room for that side of me. Oversized Tees, baggy jeans and sneakers don’t care about my SoleDivas OOTD style board.

A few weeks ago, while reorganising my wardrobe, I realised I had clothes and shoes I hadn’t worn in over a year.

My social life has practically filed for bankruptcy, so I wasn’t exactly waiting for an invitation.

But then I had a light bulb moment.

I don’t need “somewhere to go” to style myself.

If an outfit makes me smile, it has already fulfilled its purpose.

So I decided I’d start getting dressed simply because I can. I wasn’t going to let a beautiful part of me gather dust just because I’m busy surviving.

Life may be life-ing, but the fashion girl in me isn’t clocking out anytime soon. I picked out an outfit and got dressed effortlessly.

I was thinking of an aesthetically pleasing background I could use and then I remembered we had this small balcony looking out into the highway that we rarely ever opened.

God bless my housemates, they indulged me and took the shots, a few edits later, the outcome was fire and that’s how the balcony shots have become a thing.

Enjoy some of the balcony shots and let me know what you think in the comments.

I’d be sharing the idea behind each outfit and links to get them in subsequent posts.

Which one is your favourite?

It’s your favourite fashion girl

Jay
