When I lost my website a few years ago, it hurt like the break up of a loving relationship that had to happen. Think of a happy couple that had to break up because of their genotypes.

That website was my happy place, a place of safety, freedom and expression.

Not only did I lose the site, I lost the domain and all my content, no back up, no recovery, nothing!

I toyed with the idea of building another site, and even though I knew what to do to mitigate the same problem occurring, I was too shaken by that loss to put any serious thought into starting over.

 

But I knew I wanted more, something personal, something intentional.

There’s something liberating about owning your story and being able to share it.

A lot of times we don’t realise how far we’ve come and how God has carried us until we tell our story out loud and hear the miracle in every moment.

 

 

I wanted a space created and curated to share my journey, the things I like and enjoy, my experiences and basically the reality of what life is for me.

Shout out to my tech brother Obafemi of Slushtech, we had worked together in the past. I called him, explained the vision and he hopped on it immediately.

He expanded the idea and gave me perspective from angles I had not even considered. Talk about alignment.

Right there on the call, he checked for domain names we could use and said “olujare.com is available, let’s get it”.

Long story short, here we are in this moment.

 

 

My name is Ólújàre, a Yoruba name that means “God has settled this”, “God has vindicated me” “God has taken care of it.”or “God has made this right”

Through uncertainty, growth, healing, and becoming, the depth (and simplicity) of the meaning of my name has kept me grounded in faith.

Ólújàre is always the closing line of all my miracle stories.

In this space, I will share my lived and shared experiences – the lessons, the reflections and the quiet victories that don’t always make noise but matter deeply.

There would be no performance of perfection here, just honesty and vulnerability.
