It was a sold out show. London went wild for them and I wasn’t the least bit surprised. I mean it was Boys II Men.
I’m a 90s/early 2000 R and B girl, largely influenced by growing up with my older cousins. Talk about 112, Jagged Edge, Ginuwine, TLC, Brian McKnight, Tevin Campbell, Carl Thomas, Mariah Carey, KC and Jojo, Joe, Aaliyah and of course the legendary Boys II Men.

Most of my curated music playlists attest to this. I was introduced to music at a very early age and from when I was about 10years old, I was deep into listening to these guys.
Fancy the combination of listening to these songs and reading Mills and Boon novels. R n B + M n B = Emotional Damage, I digress.

Anyway, when I got wind of the fact that Boys II Men were coming to town, with Brian McKnight as a guest artist, I didn’t think twice about getting my ticket.

Unfortunately none of my friends was available to go with me, and looking back, it was probably a good thing because I would have embarrassed them.
I began the search for the perfect outfit. I needed to look the part of a finished fan. My search was narrowed down to two dresses I found on Boohoo and I got really confused about which one to choose

Shout out to my ‘fashion consultant’ who helped me make my choice. It turned out to be the perfect dress. Unfortunately I didn’t get any decent pictures, but these clips should do justice
I made my way to OVO Arena in Wembley and after going through seamless checks, I found my seat. I hate to get anywhere late, so I was there an hour before show time.
The DJ was amazing and took us back in time to the 90s with amazing music we vibed to. It was so nostalgic.
The show opened with a group called Damage. I know of them but I’m not quite familiar with their songs. I pretended I was a fan and mumbled a lot of gibberish as they performed.
They did give a good opening and they got a lot of love from their fans and non – fans.
Then came Brian McKnight and OMG, the emotions I felt as he performed a cover of Phil Collin’s I can feel it cannot be put to words.
He did put up a really good show. I didn’t know some of the songs he performed, so that made it a bit underwhelming for me.
I had to Shazam the ones I liked and they’ve now been added to my playlist.
The highlight for me while he was on stage was the beautiful rendition of the song he did for his wife. Again, absolutely no words, it was just simply beautiful.
Brian McKnight is the original Zaddy, eye candy at its best. He left the stage after performing his hit song Back at one
Then came in the headliners and guess who went crazy, I was screaming and acting a fool…
It felt so surreal to be in the same space as these guys that formed my first ideas of romance through their mind blowing musical lyrics.
From their CooleyHighHarmony album to Evolution, Full Circle, self named Nathan, Michael, Shawn, Wanya album, it was back to back hits.

Song after song, I sang along and a part of me felt really sorry for the people around me. I must have ruined the experience for them.
I sang off key and I was loud and I didn’t care. Worst part (for them), I knew the lyrics to every song they performed and so I sang from the bottom of my soul, off note.
It’s been the best night of my life in a very long time and I’d do it again but next time with a front row seat.
It was just Shawn, Wayan and Nathan and the absence of Michael was felt. I was low key hoping there would be a reunion of some sort.
It was a beautiful night and I sure wasn’t the only one that felt that way.
When they were about to leave the stage after performing one of their hit songs end of the road, the crowd went wild and started chanting “we want more”, guess whose voice was loudest, MOI!!!
Right on brand as the gentlemen they are, they came back to give us one more performance before they took the final bow…
This memory will live with me forever. The goal is to build as many beautiful memories as I can in every way possible.
From trying out new food, experiencing cultures, more live concerts and all that good stuff, I want to enjoy the different things life has to offer. I even have a list…
What are your favorite moments and memories? What are you looking forward to or what do you desire to experience? Share with me in the comments..
Remember, it doesn’t have to be anything exotic or expensive, there’s beauty and pleasure all around us if we’re open minded and willing to explore.
Peace, love and more fun,
From a finished fan
